Susan Fruit ASID, CGR is a licensed interior designer and state registered remodeling contractor with over 35 years of professional interior design and remodeling experience. She has designed interiors for homes in Texas, Florida, California, the Midwest and South America, and her work has been published in numerous design magazines. As America's Design Detective, Susan is a recognized expert in solving difficult design dilemmas, whether it's finding just the right accessory, creating the perfect window treatment, or tackling a major home remodeling project.
Susan is a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Interior Design and an extensive background in art history, architectural design and landscape design. She was the founder, director and principal design instructor of a four year Interior Design Certification Program at the University of Houston where she taught thousands of homeowers how to successfully design, decorate and renovate their homes.
Susan is also a published author and has written numerous articles on interior design, architecture, and landscape design for several shelter magazines. As a professional speaker, she frequently speaks at national conventions and design trade associations throughout the United States and Canada. She is also featured in the motivational book, Conversations on Success, which highlights her career.
